Seriously, Combat is Thirsty Business

 

So I put a few hours in to Dead Island after launch and was blown away with the amount of glitches in the game. My favourite is that since I use ESDF instead of WASD (as should every PC gamer) I had a glitch where my movement keys were still triggering the Use function.

Did anyone else notice the ridiculous amount of energy drinks littered throughout the island? Seriously, they're freaking everywhere and I couldn't strafe during combat without suddenly grabbing an energy drink and slamming it back. Really? This is worth getting nommed on by the undead? Yes the patch came out shortly after to the proper version that should have been released, but much to my chagrin the problem remained.

My superstar rap character ended up being Alpa Chino and his damned Booty Sweat drinks. Tropic Thunder? No?

Anyways, I've taken some time away from the game before reviewing it. This decision is also helped along by the fact that my save game became corrupt and I have to start over. I'll let them get a few patches in to redeem themselves before I tear it apart, or perhaps thoroughly enjoy it since it seems like it would be quite fun if functioning properly.
